![]() ![]() They both cost around $500 for everything (before suppressor and rail). The other is a 4.5-inch bufferless bear creek with a yhm r9 attached and tucked under a 9-inch rail. Both are palmetto ar15 lowers, both use mean arms pmag conversions. At that money, you can buy you so many better options. All in all, you’d spend about 1-2k getting the Scorpion “perfect”. The problem is it’s $400 and it’s backordered pretty heavily. Many people have shot thousands of rounds with it and say it’s the best upgrade you can do for your gun. Nexus Firearms offers a new built bolt that is designed to mitigate or completely obliterate the peening issue. It is a popular and common issue on Scorpions and has been since it’s inception I believe. When the peening gets bad enough, it will make the firing pin get stuck causing an OOBD. The bolt starts to take a beating after a couple thousand rounds which causes peening around the firing pin. Scorpions are known to eat themselves and detonate out of battery due to the bolt design. Eventually they are a ticking time bomb as well. Scorpions aren’t built the way they should’ve. I upgraded the charging handle, mag release (stock one sucks ass too), grip, trigger and spring kit and when I bought it the brace thing wasn’t a problem so in all I spent maybe 3-5 on everything including the Holosun green dot. Luckily the Scorpion has pretty nice aftermarket support so changing every little thing you want on it isn’t costly. Stock trigger and trigger pull is ass and heavy. However, the gun is not a dream out of the box. For the two years I owned it it was a blast. Let me copy that:Īs a former Scorpion owner (Owned it since 2021, just sold it Friday), I’d say for the money go another direction. ![]()
